Sam Kinison - comediant, actor, dar şi “rock star”(în unele ocazii), a fost furnizorul unui stand-up cu totul original, caracterizat printr-un ţipat din toţi ranunchii la livrarea fiecărui “punch-line”. A portretizat (“ţipat”) cum femeile întotdeauna i-au frânt inima... Iar el a fost portretizat de revista RollingStone ca fiind “Comedy`s Whild Thing”.

Carieră
Debutul: Ex-reverend, din cauza “tonului” din ce în ce mai de nestăpânit cât şi a divorţului de prima sa soţie, Samuel “Sam” Burl Kinison, la vârsta de 23 de ani se îndreaptă către stand-up comedy.
Evenimente notabile: A apărut, în vara anului 1984, în show-ul HBO “Rodney Dangerfield’s Ninth Annual Young Comedians Special”, acest moment fiind considerat de mulţi reprezentaţia care l-a propulsat în faţa publicului larg.
În 1988, a înregistrat o versiune noua p-atunci şi ciudată a melodiei “Wild Thing”, aceasta devenind un succes la MTV. În ea apar prieteni de-ai lui, muzicieni cunoscuţi, precum Steven Tyler şi Joe Perry de la Aerosmith, Slash, Billy Idol, Steve Vai, Dweezil Zappa, Richie Sambora şi Tommy Lee.
În timpul unei reprezentaţii la “Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson”, a început ceva ce părea a fi o versiune clasică a melodiei lui Elvis Presley “Are You Lonesome Tonight”, dar s-a transformat în tirade furioase în timpul pauzei vorbite, revenind după aceea cu varianta clasică de final a cântecului.
